Biography
Sevak Mirzakhanyan is an Armenian artist born in Armavir in 1985. His interest in art began in childhood through drawing, engraving and the study of different visual forms. Encouraged by his family, he continued along this path and, after school, studied painting and engraving in the workshop of Aleksandr Artashesovich Hovsepyan. The experience gave him a lasting foundation in patience, precision and self-expression through art.
During his career, Sevak joined The Union of Artists of Russia. He describes this as a meaningful achievement and an opportunity to connect with other artists.
Over the years, Sevak has explored different techniques and styles while continuing to build on that foundation. His current practice focuses on hand-crafted sculpture made from found and recycled metal. He approaches art as a personal journey and each work as an expression of experience, inspiration and emotion. Through his work, he seeks to create a sense of connection, beauty and authenticity, inviting viewers to find meaning in detail.
Artist Statement
For me, creating art is a deeply personal journey, and every piece I make is an expression of my experiences, inspirations, and emotions. When I craft a piece, I do so with love, dedication, and a commitment to making something unrepeatable. Each engraving or painting I create carries its own story. I aim to create art that resonates with people on an emotional level, allowing them to find meaning and beauty in the details.
Over the years, I have experimented with various techniques and styles, but my foundation in engraving and painting remains at the heart of my work. I am constantly exploring new ideas, striving to bring a fresh perspective to each piece while honoring the artistic traditions that have shaped me. Art, for me, is a never-ending journey of discovery, and I am grateful to share my passion with others through my creations.
